Nottingham student Tom Nixon who went missing on Thursday 24 July has been found safe and well in Manchester, following a nationwide hunt for him.
The 20-year-old law student was last seen in his home in Elmsthorpe Avenue, Lenton around 1am on Thursday. The alarm was raised when he failed to meet his girlfriend the following morning.
His concerned friends and family created the hashtag, #FindTom, which resulted in more than 500 tweets being posted expressing worry about the missing student and appealing for any information on his whereabouts.
Celebrities such as Philip Schofield and Davina McCall joined in with the search.
Nottingham Police released a statement this morning to say Tom had been found "safe and well."
Speaking to HuffPost UK, Tom's close friend was unable to explain the disappearance and lack of communication but that the family and friends were "all just so happy and relieved that Tom's back with his family and want to thank everyone who helped spread the word of Tom's disappearance, everyone's help has been so appreciated".
